Overview

A global hospitality chain with a presence in over 25 countries is looking to hire a senior head waiter who will be the direct link between the branch’s management and the service staff. The main duty of a senior head waiter will be assisting the floor supervisor and branch manager in communicating all their instructions to the service staff and constantly making sure that the entire service staff is delivering the best quality service that they are capable of delivering.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed as mentioned in the Orientation manual”.
  • Be committed to implementing service standards (service sequences,) understanding that these have been developed to enhance the brand.
  • Opening duties: The senior head waiter is responsible for following up on the branch manager’s checklist performed by the person in charge of the opening.
  • Closing Duties: The senior head waiter is responsible for following up on the tasks of the runner, waiter and headwaiter during the closing according to the closing procedures
  • Assisting in checking the quality of received food and beverage products at the branch.
  • Ensuring that all products on the menu (either food or beverage) are being consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
  • Having a keen eye for details, and being constantly aware of the “total picture” within the restaurant.
  • Ensuring the entrance is never left unattended and all guests are welcomed in a friendly, smiling and enthusiastic way.
  • Making sure that all guests are given highly responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times within the boundaries of the organizations standards and norms.
  • Filling in where needed to ensure that guest service standards are properly met.
  • Participating in resolving all customer complaints, no matter how minor they are
  • Follow up on employee’s sanitation and cleanliness.
  • Ensuring that the branch is impeccably clean, pleasant and tidy.

What we are looking for:

  • A Bachelor or equivalent in hotel/restaurant management or technical hostelry is desirable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the food service industry with at least a year and a half in a Head Waiter (senior captain) position
  • Very good knowledge of food & beverage products.
  • Great skills in guests' relations.
  • Good computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and restaurants POS Systems.
  • The ability to lead by example.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • The technical skill to easily communicate in both: English and Arabic as well as French is a plus.

Working days - Six days a week with one day off

Salary - 85000 Naira

Location - Victoria Island
